I am ready for the squares to start losing again now. If you have been reading this column and following the plight of my smaller players, you know that two weeks ago many of them reached a critical point in terms of their ability to pay. After the past few weekends, that should not be a problem anymore for those that didn't go broke. I expect the upcoming week to be back to normal however, as the rivalry games typically are tough on the square players.
The good news is that the sharps and their followers continue to struggle. I get a lot of volume from these guys and they have not had a good year at all in football.
Last Saturday, they did hit a couple of their biggest plays, but overall it was another bad day for them. Clemson was their biggest winner on the day. Maryland was also a big winner as was Arkansas. The other games that were winners for the sharps were Kentucky, Kansas State and Idaho. They had losers on UConn, Central Michigan, Wyoming, Kansas, California, Oregon State, Florida, Arizona State and Minnesota UNDER. For the day, the sharps were just 5-9 by my tally.
On Sunday, the sharps took it on the chin again, while the squares basically broke even. I had some winners and some losers on the day in the NFL. The sharps were tricky in the morning, betting Tampa Bay from pick to -1, then another group bet Washington all the way to -1 a few minutes later.
I still haven't figured out how I fared in that game after the Buccaneers went for two instead of overtime and won the game.
The sharp players won with Minnesota and Seattle UNDER while losing with the Jets, Baltimore and Cleveland. Their 2-3 record on the day wasn't as bad as Saturday, and they were really quiet in the NFL again this week.
Popular plays with the squares on Sunday were winners on Carolina and Denver and losers on Atlanta and Indianapolis. Most of them also won with the Steelers on Sunday night. Atlanta's loss was the killer of many teasers on the day, and the Giants destroyed many as well with their loss to the Vikings.
Check back in next week for more results.
