MLB Gambling News: Bettors finally adjust to Milwaukee's Miller Park

05.01.2013     06:31 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Pittsburgh (Gomez) at Milwaukee (Burgos) -140 O/U 9

If you haven't already noticed, Milwaukee's Miller Park has been playing a tad bit small of late. And by a “tad bit” we mean home runs are being hit like a moderately competitive rec league softball game. Miller Park has surrendered an average of 3.4 home runs per game (2.8 last year). Of Milwaukee's 14 home games, seven have hit double digits including Monday and Tuesday’s 10-4 and 12-8 slugfests against Pittsburgh. Add it all up and 10 of Miller Park's 14 games have gone OVER the total. But what's most notable is not one those 14 games had a total above 8.5...until today. CRIS opened this afternoon's game at 8.5un-115 with Pittsburgh's Jeanmar Gómez taking on Milwaukee's Hiram Burgos. But following last night's 29 hits, 7 home runs, and 20 runs, bettors had seen enough. The game is currently 9 across the board – a number that could very well become the baseline for Miller Park if the home run derby Read more

All Star game roof info, umpire assignments and history

07.12.2011     08:00 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
The All Star game is set to begin at 5:25 PM (PT) tonight at Arizona's Chase Field. With temperatures expected to hit 100 degrees we'd anticipate the roof to be closed, much as it was during last night's Home Run Derby contest.

While the hotline has not officially been updated for Tuesday you can call 1-602-462-6262 to verify our suspicions this afternoon. This park does play a little more pitcher friendly with the roof closed.

In other news our Sports Options professional odds screen is listing Dale Scott as the home plate umpire this evening. His current splits show a 14-6 O/U mark this season. He has been neutral over the previous four seasons showing a 53-53 O/U mark.

The National League won last year's midsummer classic 3-1, the first time since 1997 the senior circuit had prevailed. Four of the last five All Star games have been decided by exactly one run and only one has been decided by anything more than two runs since 2002.

Current lines show the NL favored at -115 with a total of Read more

2011 MLB All-Star Game: Home Run Derby Odds

07.07.2011     06:53 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
The Greek has posted odds for this year's Home Run Derby at Arizona's Chase Field. Jose Bautista is the favorite at +250 followed by David Ortiz, Prince Fielder and Matt Holliday all at +300. Ortiz won the event last year in Anaheim while Fielder won in 2009 at Busch Stadium. According to the Diamondbacks' official website, the left field line is slightly shorter (330 feet) than the right field line (334 feet). The rest of the ballpark is uniform with the power alleys at 374 and dead center 407. With temperatures expected to be near 100, we would imagine the roof will be closed.

Matt Kemp +650
Prince Fielder +300
