NCAA Tournament Free Betting Pick: Kansas State Wildcats Creighton Bluejays

Kansas State +1.5 vs. Creighton O/U 144.5
Recommendation: Kansas State

Creighton’s backstory entering the NCAA Tournament this season follows a similar script as last season. The Bluejays lost arguably their best player midseason a year ago when senior PG Maurice Watson Jr. went out and Greg McDermott’s squad was never quite the same from that point on. They limped to the finish line of the regular season and were bounced by Rhode Island in their first NCAA Tournament game by a score of 84-72. This season, Creighton suffered another harmful midseason injury in January when their best frontcourt player Martin Krampelj who averaged 11.9 points and 8.1 boards per game for the Bluejays suffered a season ending torn ACL. It’s no surprise to see their rebounding rate (which is at 50.5% on the season) fall downward into the mid to high 40% range since that injury. From the time in which Krampelj went out, Creighton again sputtered down the stretch to the tune of 5-7 SU, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games inside the Big East and much like last season, I think Creighton could be poised for another ‘one and done’ Read more

Kansas at Kansas State +2 O/U 147
Recommendation: Kansas State

Heated in-state rivalry figures to be as intense as ever after 73-72 KU victory just 16 days ago. Plenty of fuel added to the Kansas State fire tonight after what they perceived to be preferential officiating given to the Jayhawks in that contest. That sentiment came on the heels of last season’s 90-88 Kansas win in which then junior Svi Mykhailiuk clearly traveled on the game winning basket. In his press conference after this season’s loss. Bruce Weber said “I’m really disappointed in some of the calls. But we were all here last year, and same thing.” The Wildcats figure to have extra motivation and look to benefit from what will be a very raucous home crowd. Kansas is oblivious to fierce road environments and rallied back in the second half to win at Morgantown a few games ago but their poise will again be tested tonight.

One difference tonight from the first meeting is Kansas State’s starting sophomore PG Carter Diarra who took over the role six ago after junior Kamau Stokes broke his foot during the Texas Tech games. In his Read more

College Football Betting Preview: Ole Miss Rebels at California Golden Bears

Ole Miss at California
Saturday, 7:30 pm PT - ESPN
CRIS Opener: Ole Miss -3.5 O/U 72
CRIS Current: Ole Miss -3.5 O/U 71.5
Recommendation: Under

California's defense is not going to be fixed overnight. The bad recruiting, bad coaching, and bad habits from the Sonny Dykes era are bound to linger. The good news is through two games, the Golden Bears are nearly a yard per play better than last season. And while last week's win over FCS Weber State doesn't look all that impressive (the Wildcats rolled up 571 yards), I look more to Week 1's results as Cal went on the road and held North Carolina to less than 5 yards per play. The Tar Heels lost a lot of offensive firepower but they also managed to hang 35 points and 6.5 yards per play the following week against Louisville.

Back in 2014 and 2015, Ole Miss' defense was a top-tier unit as it posted season averages of 4.7 and 4.9 yards per allowed, respectively. They took a big step back last year as teams rolled up over 6 yards per play and the Rebels finished a dismal 5-7. This year's unit has been average thus far as Read more
