Lots of Tim Tebow talk with the quarterback on display for a national TV audience tonight. Will he complete a pass in the first half, which he failed to do last week (2 completions the entire game)? Both defenses figure to fill the box and pressure the quarterbacks tonight, which could set up some big offensive plays if Tebow and Sanchez can make the proper reads and adjust.
The Broncos offensive philosophy and system has employed zone, man, option and even the triple-option since Tebow took over, but note that the Broncos have rushed for 244, 299, 195 and 183 yards the past four weeks. Denver rushed for more yards in October than any other NFL team since 2007. They now rank second in the NFL at 158 ypg, but tonight’s challenge could be the biggest with injuries in Denver’s backfield and Willis McGahee a game time decision.
Denver’s defense has been beaten badly in some games this season, and their sub-par defense (360 ypg) and poor pass defense is susceptible – allowed 49, 45 and 29 points to quality teams and quarterbacks in Green Bay, Detroit and San Diego. The Broncos also allowed 22 points to Cincinnati and 20+ two times to Oakland.

I've backed New Mexico State on multiple occasions this season and had fairly good results. The Aggies are much improved across the board and have been competitive in nearly all of their games this season. They have two competent quarterbacks in Matt Christian and Travaughn Colwell and enough of a run game (141.2 ypg) to keep opposing teams honest. BYU may be 7-3 but can hardly be considered an elite level team. Last week they crushed Idaho 42-7 but the Vandals were off a rare victory and showed absolutely no effort from the opening whistle. The Cougars are back with Jake Heaps at quarterback after Riley Nelson was hurt last game. They are both essentially the same player (Nelson more of a runner) in terms of production but the constant shuffling has created inconsistency and lack of continuity with the offense. Interesting situation for Clemson this weekend at it travels to take on NC State. With last week's narrow win over Wake Forest, the Tigers clinched a berth in the ACC Championship.
