Sunday MLB Free Betting Pick: San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks

San Francisco (Cain) -125 at Arizona (Collmenter) O/U 8.5
Recommendation: San Francisco

I love the fact that baseball has changed so dramatically that mediocre pitchers can go out and have success. Six or seven years ago, a guy like Josh Collmenter would have never sniffed the mound and if he did, the results wouldn't have been pretty. But while the game is better suited for pitchers nowadays, I think Collmenter may be on borrowed time. His success stems from a funky delivery and throwing strikes. The velocity sits in the mid-80s and a lot of times, it is the batters that get themselves out by over-swinging. Opposing Collmenter will be Matt Cain who just inked a massive deal after three straight ultra-productive seasons. Cain allowed only nine home runs last season so look for a little bit of regression in that department. Still, he is obviously a much more viable option in this matchup and the betting markets certainly agree with money pouring in on the Giants. A number of Read more

NBA Handicapping: Philadelphia's Collins says starters on short leash

Philadelphia at Boston -4 O/U 192.5

Philadelphia continued its slide down the standing after yesterday's 88-82 home loss to Orlando. The Sixers led by eight at half but were outscored 51-37 after the break. Following the loss, head coach Doug Collins hinted that some sort of change was coming in terms of the lineup but due to the short turnaround, the rotation will stay intact for Sunday. Philadelphia (3-9 SU, 4-8 ATS run) now trails Boston by two games in the Atlantic Division. The Sixers have fallen to the seven seed and are only one game ahead of eighth place New York.

"I am going to give the starting unit one more time and if we start like that again, I’m going to make a change," Collins said. " ... They will get a chance (Sunday) but I told them we can’t keep Read more

NBA Betting Alert: Chicago's Rose probable vs. New York Knicks

04.08.2012     06:53 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Chicago -2.5 at New York O/U 184.5

Chicago's Derrick Rose (groin) practice full speed yesterday is "probable" for this afternoon's game against the Knicks. The Bulls went 8-4 SU, 6-5-1 ATS, and 5-7 O/U without Rose.

“It’s really not up to him. It’s up to me,” Rose said. “If I’m feeling good I’m going to play. If I feel I need some more days I’ll take some more days. More than likely, I’ll be out there.”

“You won’t know until he gets out there because of the amount of time he has missed,” Thibodeau said. “He’s never missed an extended amount of time like this before. He’s been putting a lot of extra time in so hopefully he’ll be ready when he goes out there.”
