Miami's loss to Boston last night helped the Chicago Bulls clinch the
top seed
in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are tied with San Antonio (and own the tiebreaker) for the best record in the league with two games to play.
"We’d like to have home court all the way throughout," Carlos Boozer said. "If we have a Game 7, we’d like to have it in our building. We believe in ourselves. We’re confident what we can do."
"We don’t want to jump to the playoffs now," Thibodeau said. "We want to get ready for Indiana, have a good walkthrough, go step-by-step. That’s been our approach all year and we don’t want to change that. Home court doesn’t guarantee anything. You still have to play well."

Rumors are circulating that Poker Stars is in position to
purchase Full Tilt Poker
.
“We´ve had a lot of enquiries and there´s lots of speculation on the forums, so I just wanted to address the PokerStars chatter. As you know, PokerStars is in settlement discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice. As such settlement discussions are always confidential, we are unable to comment on the rumours. As soon as we have information to share publicly we will do so”.

Quick breakdown of
Oakland starter Jarrod Parker
who came over in the Trevor Cahill deal. Parker was a former first round pick back in 2007 and had Tommy John surgery in 2010. He went 1-0 with a 2.18 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 20.3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento.
Parker has an accomplished repertoire of pitches, including a four-seam fastball in the mid 90s, and a slider that often makes batters look foolish. He made his big league debut last September and shut down the Dodgers, allowing no runs, four hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings, though he wasn't involved in the decision.

The Knicks own the tiebreaker against both the Magic and 76ers. For the sixth seed, the Knicks will get it only if they go 2-0 and the Magic go 0-2. Assuming the Magic go at least 1-1, the Knicks are going for the No. 7 seed and they’ll get that if they go 2-0 no matter what the 76ers do, 1-1 if the 76ers go no better than 1-1 and even 0-2 if the 76ers go 0-2 as well.

Miami's "Big Three" are currently doubtful and as we mentioned earlier today, Boston is far more worried about
rest and health
than home court. But with the Heat seemingly giving this one away, wouldn’t the Celtics just go ahead and grab the “W” just in case the Hawks lose? That seems fairly logical, but it becomes tricky with the line now at 7.5.

attempts to explain Kansas City's horrific 3-13 start to the season. Offensively, their overall numbers are slightly below American League average yet they are producing only 3.56 runs per game with the AL average at 4.47. The issue apparently comes from the lack of situational hitting. On the flip side, the pitching hasn't been that bad either but with runners on is where they tend to struggle (.841 OPS). The article later gets into the pythagorean expectation and makes the argument that the Royals have statistically speaking played more like an 8-8 team rather than 3-13. Jeff Francoeur seems to think there are
better days
on the horizon.

The home run ball is also an issue – as it has been for much of his career – with six long balls (two each game) allowed. According to Santana, his
lack of command with the fastball
has been the issue.
"There's not a lot he has to change to just give this team a chance to win," Scioscia said. "[Finding fastball command] is not that big of an adjustment. It's all in his delivery. He can make a quick fix."

early season struggles
for Miami's Josh Johnson. His batting average against currently sits at .400 with a BABIP of .452. Both stats should be considered somewhat unlucky even with the dip in velocity. He's also struggled against lefties, inducing just two swinging strikes in 95 pitches. Then there is the issue of Johnson favoring his change-up over the curveball while he continues to mend from last year's shoulder issues.

New York has a shot to slip into the sixth seed if it wins its final two games AND Orlando finds a way to lose to Charlotte and Memphis. We agree; that is an unlikely scenario. So it looks as if New York will face either Chicago or Miami. One scout said the Knicks could give the Bulls trouble, especially if Derrick Rose isn't healthy.
