Coaches Film
as part of its Game Rewind package. Basically fans (and bettors) who purchase a subscription will be able to go back and "watch film” of past games.

Cantor Gaming signs deal with California casino

Cantor Gaming
inked a deal with California's Colusa Casino Resort and will offer its famed mobile gambling. It obviously won't include sports betting but rather blackjack and baccarat.
"California represents a tremendous opportunity for our business, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities within this market," Cantor CEO Lee Amaitis said in a statement.

Nevada offering low price tag on online gambling licenses

Compared to other states, purchasing an
online gambling license
in the state of Nevada is super cheap. We're talking WAY off the market price. The initial one-year license is $500K and $250K per year after that. The first licenses could be issued as soon as next week.
California, for example, has legislation pending that would require a $30 million license fee that would serve as a credit against monthly taxes imposed on gross gaming revenue. Just to apply for a license would cost from $1 million to $5 million.
Florida plans a nonrefundable $10 million fee credited against its 35 percent gross gaming tax in addition to an annual licensing fee of $500,000. Massachusetts will seek a $10 million fee that would be credited against gross gaming tax revenue.

Update on the status of
Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner
who for whatever reason decided to pull a mid-game marketing stunt in the EURO Cup.
Sportsmemo's Marty Otto:
This could be a big deal if he ends up suspended. Bendtner is the best striker on the team and scored both goals last game. Denmark hasn't qualified for the next round yet and plays its toughest game against Germany upcoming.

Miami Heat tie up series, short home favorite for Sunday's Game 3

The Miami heat tied up the series 1-1 after last night’s 100-96 Game 2 victory. For Sunday's Game 3, the Heat are a -3.5/-4 home favorite. Pinnacle opened Miami -5. CRIS opened -3.5 earlier this morning. The total is currently 194.5/194. The series adjusted price is now a pick 'em at -110 – some shops lean Miami at -115.

Woods remains US Open betting favorite after opening round -1

All aboard the Tiger Woods bandwagon. Following yesterday's 1-under par 69, Woods is now a
2-1 betting favorite
to win the US Open. Off of last week's Memorial Tournament victory, Woods was one of just six players to crack par in Round 1 at the Olympic Club. Michael Thompson leads the field after shooting an unbelievable -4 while four other golfers are tied with Woods for second at -1.
"This golf course, it's so demanding," Tiger told the media after his round. "And if you're off your game just a little bit, you're going to pay the price. And it's hard to make pars. Phil and Bubba were off just a little bit. This is one of those Opens where it's just really hard to make birdies. This is not like I was last year. This is a tough one. This is tough to make birdies. You've got to really grind, and for me I thought I hit the ball well today and I didn't have a whole lot of putts from ten feet or 15 feet or in. It's just hard to get the ball close."

MLB Betting News: Rockies have allowed 70 runs during eight-game losing streak

The Colorado Rockies (24-38, -15.7 units) are now 0-9 in Interleague play and have lost
eight straight games
overall. During the eight-game losing streak, they've allowed 8, 10, 8, 10, 11, 7, 6 and 10 runs. Amazingly, since the late season meltdown of 2010, the Rockies are 98-143. For tonight, Jeff Francis makes his
second start
since coming off the DL. He allowed 10 hits and eight earned runs in 3.1 innings last time out against the Angels.
"What makes this so frustrating is that you want to win now," pitcher Jeff Francis said. "It's not about winning in two years, it's about winning now. Back then, it was almost like being in the minor leagues.
"I mean, you played to win and you played to be successful, but there was a bigger picture. But now it's hard to see a bigger picture because of these losses."

on the continued rise of pitching in MLB. The obvious reason behind it is the removal (or decline) of steroids. But as Stark points out, there appears to be much more to it.
Want to guess how many fewer runs will be scored this season than were scored in the 2000 season, if teams continue sputtering along at their current pace? How about nearly 4,000. Right. We said FOUR THOUSAND runs.
"You can definitely see it in the second half," says one NL executive. "These guys are cooked. They're OK through June. But then the weather starts to get hot, they've played 80-90 games, and then the grind, the travel, the schedule starts to get to them."
"I've never seen as many hard throwers on every single team as I do now," says Derek Lowe. "It seems like every team has three or four guys coming out of that bullpen throwing 95 miles an hour."

St. Louis starter Jake Westbrook has been an absolute disaster area for a month now; 0-4 with an ERA approaching 8.00 in his last six starts while giving up 48 hits in just 31 innings of work. He’s been pitching with a cut on the middle finger of his throwing hand; a lingering issue that has clearly affected his mound presence. The Cardinals bullpen behind Westbrook has been struggling mightily, ranked in the bottom quartile of the majors in ERA, blown saves and losses. The White Sox had scored 25 runs in their previous three games prior to getting blanked last night – their high octane lineup has been clicking on all cylinders for weeks, ranked #6 out of 30 MLB teams in runs scored this year. There’s absolutely no reason to think that Chicago won’t be able to tee off on Westbrook and the bullpen behind him tonight; producing runs in bunches.

Milwaukee's Shaun Marcum has always been an interesting study. From a stuff standpoint, he isn't flashy, but he's managed to keep batters off balance for much of his career. But we’re not here to call out Marcum as some smoke-and-mirrors fraud. Instead we'll make mention of the fact that few starting pitchers if any have faced an easier slate of opposing offenses.

Online casino disputes dude's crazy gambling run

Back in 2009, an Italian man hopped online and with 20 euros in his account, started playing a lottery game. A few hours later,
he was pumped up £650,000
. The company, Eurobet.com, says there was a bug in the software that allowed the gentleman to risk so little and win so much in such little time. They obviously are doing everything in their power to avoid paying out. The issue is currently in court.
Speaking through an interpreter, Mr Venturi told the court: "I had always lost previously... but when I started to win I had a very good feeling. I'm a player and my instincts told me to keep betting."
"I realised the amount that I was winning and I realised that I had to stop. I had been lucky enough... I am only human. I was taken by the emotions and there was a lot of euphoria."
He added: "I've never had so much money... It's a very big win; it's not something that happens every day."

MLB Handicapping: Kansas City's Luke Hochevar should improve

On the surface, Kansas City's Luke Hochevar has been one of the worst starters in baseball with a 3-7 record and 6.57 ERA. But there is no question he's been unlucky this year. He sports the second highest BABIP (.364) among qualified starters and has a dismal 57.5% left-on-base rate (the league average is around 70%). Also, his Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) rate of 3.61 is above league average. Does that mean he's going to immediately turn things around? Probably not, especially with his confidence level not being very high at this point. The good news is the Royals don't have a lot of options so he'll continue to get the ball every fifth day. If his "luck" can turn around, he has the potential to eventually get back to last year's post-All-Star break form when he posted a 6-3 record and 3.52 ERA.

MLB Handicapping: American and National League Run Differentials

Update of MLB's runs scored, runs allowed, run differential and luck. Luck is a tool from Baseball-Reference that provides the difference between a team's actual record and Pythagorean W-L. For example, the Cardinals are second in the NL in run differential yet only one game over .500 and in third place in the Central. Based on their run differential, they should be 37-26 not 32-31. Baltimore is 10 games over .500 yet a modest +4 in run differential. Pittsburgh is three games over .500 but has been outscored by 25 runs.
