NHL Handicapper Free Betting Pick: Minnesota Wild at Nashville Predators

Minnesota at Nashville -125 O/U 5.5
Recommendation: Nashville

Two Central Division foes face-off for a Saturday matinee as the Nashville Predators host the Minnesota Wild in a potential first round playoff preview. The Wild had a five-point lead in the Central Division back on February 28 before losing 12 of their last 16 games. It dropped them down to second place as they now trail Chicago by (7-8-9) points entering this contest. A facial injury to winger Zach Parise will sideline him for this game. Parise has scored 17 goals and 20 assists on the year and is one of the main leaders for this Minnesota club. Nashville is looking to get out of the Wild Card range and grab the third spot in the Central which would pit them in a match-up against the Wild. The Preds have won seven of their last 10 games and have earned at least a point in six of the last 10 meetings versus Minnesota. Nashville has played division opponents tough this year, with a 12-7 record as a favorite vs. Central foes. Forward Filip Forsberg leads the club with 30 goals; his third consecutive season with 25 or more goals with the Predators. This game is big for Read more

MLB Handicapper Free Betting Pick: Minnesota Twins Season Over/Under Wins

Minnesota Twins Season Over/Under Wins 74.5
Recommendation: Over

In 2015, the Minnesota Twins finished a respectable 8th in runs scored and 10th in team ERA in the American League en route to an 83-win campaign. Last season, the offense remained viable put the pitching staff was arguably the worst in the AL and coupled with an 0-9 start, the Twins bottomed out with a 59-103 record.

Pitching and defense are the obvious keys heading into 2017 and I believe both aspects will improve. The outfield, led by Eddie Rosario, Byron Buxton and Max Kepler, has the goods to be an above average unit. Minnesota hopes to see improvement from their infield defense especially at shortstop with Jorge Polanco. Polanco had some struggles with errors early in the spring but has been much better of late. With a pitch-to-contact staff, having a plus-shortstop in imperative. Jason Castro is a massive upgrade at the catcher spot after the departure of veteran Kurt Suzuki. Castro is solid at the plate but more importantly decent in terms of throwing out base runners and above average at pitch framing.

Ervin Santana remains the de facto "ace" Read more

NBA Handicapping: How many points with Cousins score vs. Kings?

03.31.2017     08:46 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
If you aren't doing anything tonight and have NBA League Pass, you'll probably want to tune into the Sacramento-New Orleans game as DeMarcus Cousins scores 63 points and block 10 shots in the first quarter against his former team. Since the trade, the Kings are 5-13 SU but a respectable 8-9-1 ATS. The Pelicans are 9-9 SU and 9-7-1 ATS but only 6-8 SU and 6-6-1 ATS when Cousins plays. Also note, this will mark the first time this season New Orleans in laying double-digits. Be sure to check out the posting forum contest we are offering tonight on Cousins’ point total.

"I think guys are kidding themselves when they say it's just another game," Gentry said. "It's never just another game. It's just like coaches -- when you get fired from another team and you play them, you want to beat that team. It's not like when you play somebody else. It's just human nature.
