NHL Handicapper Free Betting Pick: Florida Panthers at Arizona Coyotes

Florida at Arizona -110 O/U 5.5
Recommendation: Arizona

Arizona's six-game losing streak has a good chance to end tonight as the offensive inept Florida Panthers come to town. The Panthers have been held to two goals or less in four straight games and have posted only seven total goals scored during that span. Florida is also a very below average team defensively and it has been even tougher for them to keep pucks out of their own net since Roberto Luongo their #1 goaltender went down to injury a few weeks ago. James Reimer has not been all that sharp in between the pipes for Florida in place of the injured Luongo and you could make a solid argument that Arizona will have the better goalie in this matchup with Antti Raanta back in net for the Coyotes and finally healthy after dealing with injuries earlier on in the season. Florida is not a team I trust laying a price on the road even against a league worst Arizona Coyotes squad but I'm willing to give Arizona a chance to get back on track in this game tonight. Yes, it's true Arizona is not a good hockey team and yes they are on a current 6 game losing streak but they have faced Read more

College Basketball Betting Free Play: Morehead State Eagles at Butler Bulldogs

Morehead State at Butler -22 O/U 140
Recommendation: Over

Heading into the season, Butler first-year head coach LaVall Jordan had talked about wanting to play a more up-tempo brand of basketball. Last year, under Chris Holtmann, the Bulldogs played in only seven games that featured 70 possessions or more. Under Jordan, they've matched that mark through only 11 games. In watching Butler play, scoring isn't going to come easy in Big East play. But the Bulldogs have proven capable against lesser competition. In games against teams outside Ken Pom's top 100, Butler has averaged 81.6 ppg. The game scores of those six contests were 162, 146, 147, 160, 140, and 120. The chance for points continues tonight with Morehead State in town. The Eagles haven't shown much of an ability to stop the opposition. Xavier scored 101 points on 72 possessions and Virginia Tech netted 96 on 77. They currently rank first nationally in defensive time of possession meaning opposing teams don't need to work much to get a clean look. The concern is whether or not Morehead can get to 60 points. Against Xavier and Northern Kentucky, they failed to top 50. Butler's Read more

College Football Handicapping: Herm Edwards off to a hot start at Arizona State

12.19.2017     06:47 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Like most bettors, we're still trying to wrap our heads around Arizona State's decision to hire Herm Edwards. Long term, this has close to no chance of working out. But it's the Sun Devils' upcoming Sun Bowl Bowl matchup vs. NC State that has our attention. For whatever reason, the athletics director encouraged Edwards to keep both coordinators, which Edwards did. The only problem is they didn't stick around. Defensive coordinator Phil Bennett left for what is being called "health reasons" while offensive coordinator Billy Napier took the head job at UL-Lafayette. Shortly after, Edwards promoted wide receivers coach Rob Likens to offensive coordinator ASU's fourth OC in four years. And no one really knows who will be in charge of the defense. The only thing that can make this situation even more entertaining is if Read more
