College Basketball Betting Free Play: Arkansas Razorbacks at Texas A&M Aggies

Arkansas at Texas A&M -5.5 O/U 146.5
Recommendation: Texas A&M

Have not been impressed at all with Arkansas through the first half of SEC play. The Razorbacks are 4-4 with two wins coming in overtime and the other two by a bucket and four points. In terms of efficiency, they are -0.07 which equates to -5 points in a 70 possession game. They enter tonight's game on a very fortunate three-game winning streak. They needed to shoot 11-for-22 from deep and 28-for-35 from the free throw line to get past a mediocre Ole Miss squad at home, 97-93. They limped past a very weak Georgia squad in double overtime. And then this past weekend, escaped with a 66-65 win over Oklahoma State in which the Cowboys had multiple point-blank looks in the closing seconds but couldn't convert. Meanwhile, Texas A&M looked like an SEC contender early on with dominating wins over West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Penn State, USC and a narrow 67-64 loss to Arizona. The Aggies got nailed with the injury bug and opened SEC play 0-5. The currently sit 2-6 with two of those six losses coming by a single point including a 69-68 loss at Kentucky. It's difficult Read more

College Basketball Betting Free Play: Kansas Jayhawks at Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas at Kansas State +2 O/U 147
Recommendation: Kansas State

Heated in-state rivalry figures to be as intense as ever after 73-72 KU victory just 16 days ago. Plenty of fuel added to the Kansas State fire tonight after what they perceived to be preferential officiating given to the Jayhawks in that contest. That sentiment came on the heels of last season’s 90-88 Kansas win in which then junior Svi Mykhailiuk clearly traveled on the game winning basket. In his press conference after this season’s loss. Bruce Weber said “I’m really disappointed in some of the calls. But we were all here last year, and same thing.” The Wildcats figure to have extra motivation and look to benefit from what will be a very raucous home crowd. Kansas is oblivious to fierce road environments and rallied back in the second half to win at Morgantown a few games ago but their poise will again be tested tonight.

One difference tonight from the first meeting is Kansas State’s starting sophomore PG Carter Diarra who took over the role six ago after junior Kamau Stokes broke his foot during the Texas Tech games. In his Read more

College Basketball Betting Free Play: Indiana Hoosiers at Illinois Fighting Illini

Indiana at Illinois -2 O/U 143.5
Recommendation: Illinois

You heard Tom Izzo say after Michigan State's win on Monday night that Illinois was "the best 0-8 team in the country." You could also call them one of the unluckiest teams in the country with three overtime losses and another by a single point. The Illini are still a "bottom tier" Big Ten squad but a couple of bounces their way and instead of 0-8, they could easily be 3-5 or even 4-4. Indiana, meanwhile, is a surprising 5-3 in league play with three of their five wins coming by four points or less. Under Archie Miller, it's clear the Hoosiers are improving. Since their embarrassing 20-point home loss to Fort Wayne, IU has won and covered six of eight. Illinois put a ton of effort into Monday's game against Michigan State in which they forced 25 turnovers. This is a short turnaround and matching that intensity for 40 minutes could be tricky. But Brad Underwood is an excellent motivator and should have his squad ready to go. Keep in mind, under Underwood, Oklahoma State started Big XII play 0-6 and ripped off 10 of 11. He doesn't have the horses to do that in Champaign but you Read more

College Basketball Betting Free Play: Nebraska Cornhuskers at Ohio State Buckeyes

Nebraska at Ohio State -12 O/U 139.5
Recommendation: Under

Emergence of the Buckeyes as a legitimate contender for the Big Ten title is as surprising as anything across the college basketball landscape this season but it’s not a fluke. Ohio State is an amazingly cohesive a group on each end of the floor with PF Keita Bates-Diop (19.7 ppg, 8.9 rpg) leading the way. OSU currently sits inside the Top 30 in Ken Pom’s offensive (28th) and defensive (11th) efficiency ratings and they are 8-0 straight up and against the spread in league play. They’ve posted a +16.1 ppg margin (77.9-61.8) along with a +12.7 FG% margin (51.0%-38.3%) effective FG% in those six games. The drawback to Ohio State’s impressive conference numbers could be the schedule thus far which has only seen them play two teams (Michigan and Michigan State) with above .500 Big Ten records.

Nebraska has surprised as well and despite being labeled as a dominant home team (11-1 SU at home, 3-6 away), it’s important to note that they’re 3-1 ATS on the road (6-2 overall) in Big Ten play. Stingy defense combined with controlled tempo are Read more

College Basketball Betting Free Play: Richmond Spiders at VCU Rams

Richmond at VCU
Recommendation: Under 70.5 first half

VCU head coach Mike Rhoades is not a happy camper. Last time out his squad allowed 106 points in regulation to an average Dayton squad.

“When you get taken out to the woodshed ... you can blame, blame, point fingers, you can make excuses,” Rhoades said. “Or you can look in the mirror and say, 'I got to do better, we got to do better, we got to do more.' ”

Tonight serves as a chance for redemption, especially considering the opponent is crosstown rival Richmond. Overall, the Rams have been pretty formulaic: beat the weak, lose when asked to step up in class. Richmond is in a rebuilding year with one of the youngest rosters in the country. The Spiders took their lumps early on but have quietly improved. Since getting blown out in back-to-back games against Wake Forest and Old Dominion, the Spiders are 3-5 SU with the five losses Read more
