NBA Handicapper Free Betting Pick: Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls

SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Boston -3 at Chicago O/U 203.5
Recommendation: Boston

Even after the line move towards the Celtics in early betting action, I’m still expecting Boston to close out this series with a Game 6 victory tonight. The results don’t lie. The Bulls covered the spread in Games 1 and 2 by 10.5 points and 21.5 points, winning outright as underdogs both times.

Then point guard Rajon Rondo broke his thumb, forced to sit out. The Bulls hung 106 and 111 points in the first two games with Rondo distributing the basketball extremely effectively, as Chicago notched 50 assists in those two ballgames. They notched only 31 combined assists in Games 3 and 4 with Jerian Grant, then Isaiah Canaan starting at point guard.

Grant was benched completely by Game 5. Canaan was a DNP-coaches decision 29 times in the regular season, and he played more than 20 minutes of gametime only once since December. Yet the last two games, Canaan has played more than 70 minutes of floor time. He has a grand total of three assists in those 70+ minutes.

Weak point guard play is a problem at any time of the year. When it comes to Read more

NBA Playoff Betting News: Boston Celtics continue to take money for Game 6

04.28.2017     09:50 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Up 81-79 heading into the fourth quarter in Boston, the Chicago Bulls were very live to pick up a very important road win and take a 3-2 series lead. But things didn't go well as the Celtics outscored the Bulls 29-16 to not only win but also cover -7.5. Perhaps that deflating loss has something to do with the steady stream of Boston money for tonight's Game 6. The Bulls opened pick 'em at CRIS and -1ev at Pinnacle. But the Celtics climbed to -2.5 and were again hit hard this morning with the line now as high as -3-115.

NFL Gambling News: Roger Goodell still a total goon

04.28.2017     09:35 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Man, Roger Goodell is such a buzzkill. Everything he says is 100 percent geared towards shooting down concepts of change, progression, logic, and fun. Here we have him saying the NFL remains "opposed" to legalized sports betting. He later claims pot is addictive and bad for players even though [insert a ridiculous amount of the league] needs dangerous levels of pain medication to take the field every Sunday.

NHL Handicapper Free Betting Pick: New York Rangers at Ottawa Senators

SportsMemo.com blog entry.
New York at Ottawa -105 O/U 5
Recommendation: Ottawa

My clients and I cashed several tickets on the Ottawa Senators in their opening round win over the Boston Bruins. This is in my opinion and undervalued squad and one I’ll be actively looking to back as the square off against the New York Rangers. On the surface, New York’s 4-2 series win over Montreal looks impressive but the fact remains they scored only 11 goals. Their success had a lot to do with Montreal’s totally inept offense that couldn’t buy a goal and found it very difficult to gain the blue line and generate scoring chances. Unlike the Canadiens, the Senators have offensive firepower. Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris, Derick Brassard, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman and Clarke MacArthur all registered multiple points against the Bruins. And star defenseman Erik Karlsson was phenomenal along the blue line as he piled up 7 points. The Rangers received outstanding goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist against the Canadiens but he really wasn’t challenged in the way I expect in this series. Ottawa also proved on multiple occasions against Boston that it could Read more

NFL Gambling Update: Sportsbooks adjust odds following rumors of Trubisky to Cleveland

04.27.2017     08:42 AM     Printer Friendly
UPDATE

There are a shit-ton of rumors swirling about tonight's NFL Draft. The most notable being that the Cleveland Browns may take Mitch Trubisky instead of Myles Garrett. Most draft "experts" generally agree that Garrett is the "smart" pick. But this is the Browns we're dealing with and [insert overused joke about how piss-poor the organization is]. The rumblings of Trubisky have caused a stir in the betting markets. 5Dimes moves the lines on a few of its prop bets.

Lines as of Wednesday morning
171 Myles Garrett drafted with first pick -1200
172 Any other player drafted first +600

213 Mitch Trubisky draft position over 11½ +300
214 Mitch Trubisky draft position under 11½ -420

Lines as of Thursday morning
171 Myles Garrett drafted with first pick -400
172 Any other player drafted first +280
