Alabama -9.5 at LSU O/U 41.5

Checking in on the line moves for Saturday Alabama-LSU matchup. According to Bookmaker, nearly 60% of side bets have come in on the Crimson Tide. CRIS opened the game Alabama -9 while Pinnacle opened -9.5. The line bounced back and forth between 9.5 and 10 before settling in a 9.5. This summer's Golden Nugget Game of the Year lines had LSU -2. The Tigers were +5.5 in their 9-6 OT win at Alabama last season. Bama was -2.5 in the National Championship and won 21-0.

College Football Gambling: Arkansas OC says offense too pass-happy

Tulsa at Arkansas -7.5 O/U 64.5

Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino says that offense is throwing too many passes and quarterback Tyler Wilson is taking too many chances. This weekend’s game will mark homecoming for the Razorbacks and one of their last opportunities for a win with roads trips to South Carolina and Mississippi State and a home contest against LSU remaining.

"We're throwing the ball too much to be honest with you," Petrino told reporters following Tuesday's workout before the Tulsa game. "His passing yardage is way up, his touchdowns are up and his interceptions are up. Part of it is him trying too hard to make the big play and part of it is maybe me throwing it too much."

College Football Handicapping: Auburn starts frosh QB Wallace

New Mexico State at Auburn -22.5 O/U 50.5

Perhaps giving a freshman quarterback his first career start, at home, against one of the worst teams in the country will spark a better performance out of Auburn. Then again, maybe not. Jonathan Wallace gets the nod with Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier currently nursing injuries. Wallace threw for 122 yards a two scores during garbage time of late week's blowout loss to Texas A&M.

"We thought after going back and looking at the film, that he really played well. We're going to forge ahead with that," Chizik said.

"His play was very positive Saturday night. He made some things happen."

Buffalo at Houston
Total opened 48.5, now 46.5
The new trend is to bet NFL totals UNDER after the early season barrage of OVERS and linesmakers are pushing the totals higher to avoid one-way action. However, this game is an interesting handicap because both teams had last week off, they'll be rested, and we know Buffalo in particular was working on their 32nd ranked run defense. The Bills will get DE Mario Williams back in the line-up and if he ever decides to play up to the level of his new contract, Buffalo will have a pass rush. Houston can stop any team, especially the Bills, and now they'll be more than ready. I agree with the move to the UNDER.

Iowa at Indiana
Iowa opened -1.5, now Indiana -1.5
We've seen this type of line move often this college football season. It is not a market move by trending middle or scalp players, this is a sharp play that believes the opening number was simply with the wrong team and bettors are willing to take any points offered. As a handicapper I love to look at how the teams matchup offense versus defense and if last week was any indication, Iowa could not handle the Read more

Two of the three remaining unbeatens in the SEC suffered their first loss of the season last week, leaving Alabama with the only perfect record in the conference. The Crimson Tide handed Mississippi State its first loss of the season, 38-7. Alabama was never really threatened in the game, jumping out to a quick 21-0 lead and suffocating the Mississippi State offense. The Bulldogs avoided a shutout late in the 4th quarter by scoring against the Tide’s backups.

The Georgia Bulldogs took care of the other unbeaten, dispatching Florida in a sloppy 17-9 win. The Gators' inefficient offense did them in, as Georgia forced six turnovers and held Florida to three field goal attempts. Florida had been winning despite their lack of a passing game and its defense did its job again this week, but Georgia's defense continually came up with big play after big play. Georgia now holds the tiebreaker over Florida in the race for the SEC East, and will go to the championship game if they can avoid another SEC loss.

South Carolina got back on track with its win over Tennessee, holding off the Volunteers, 38-35. The Tennessee defense was once again awful, allowing the Read more

College Football Gambling: Wisconsin loses quarterback Stave to injury

10.30.2012     06:38 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Just when it looked like Wisconsin was morphing from mediocre to good, the Badgers cough up last week's home game against Michigan State and lose quarterback Joel Stave to a season-ending injury. So now the Badgers have two weeks to try to wash the suck off of former starter Danny O'Brien. Back-up Curt Phillips is also expected to see time under center during practice. Baring a complete meltdown, the Badgers (6-3, 3-2) will stumble into the Big Ten Championship thanks to postseason bans to fellow Leaders Division foes Ohio State and Penn State.

College Football Betting Update: Idaho's circus-like season continues

UPDATE

San Jose State -19 at Idaho O/U 55

Idaho's laundry list of issues just got longer following the suspension of starting quarterback Dominique Blackman and linebacker Conrad Scheidt (failed multiple drug tests). The Vandals plan on going with two quarterbacks against San Jose Stare. You also had a back-up tight end suspended for a controversial Tweet about the firing of head coach Robb Akey. Offensive coordinator Jason Gesser took over for Akey during the bye week. Note that Idaho has played five of its last seven on the road. The two games at the Kibbie Dome…a 40-37 loss to Wyoming and 26-18 win over New Mexico State.
