NFL Gambling Preview: Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys

Baltimore at Dallas
Sunday, 10 am PT - CBS
CRIS Opener:
Dallas -6.5 O/U 43.5
CRIS Current: Dallas -7 O/U 44
Recommendation: Baltimore

No team in the NFL is hotter than Dallas, winning and covering each and every game since their Week 1 home loss to the Giants. Over the last month, they’ve won tough road games at Green Bay and Pittsburgh. But at home, they were lucky to get past Philadelphia and even luckier to cover the spread in overtime; continuing a long term trend of struggles to cover as a home favorite throughout the Jason Garrett era.

The Cowboys left it all on the field with their big win over the Steelers last week, a wild game that went back and forth through the final minute. Up next? A huge divisional showdown against hated rival Washington on Thanksgiving Day; a short week ahead. In between? This non-conference affair against a Ravens team; a game they’ve got to win by more than a TD to cover the spread. For Dallas to overcome this flat spot, they’d need an opponent they can just steamroll, like they did to the Browns a few weeks back.

NFL Gambling: Minnesota Vikings limp into Week 11 on 0-4 ATS slide

11.16.2016     10:20 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
After one of the most impressive pointspread runs in NFL history (14 straight covers, including the preseason, dating back to last season) the Minnesota Vikings enter Sunday on an 0-4 SU/ATS slide. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner abruptly left, the team's ridiculous turnover margin cooled, and the offense still can't run the football (2.7 ypc). Head coach Mike Zimmer isn't happy and recently came out and said that "we'll get back to doing thing my way." He also hinted that various scheme adjustments simply haven't worked. The vikings are a pick 'em for Sunday's home tilt vs. Arizona.

“I’ve always said, ‘If I’m gonna lose, I’m gonna lose my way.’ So we’ll just back to doing things my way.”

NFL Handicapping: Jeff Fisher finally caves, Goff to start vs. Dolphins

11.15.2016     11:28 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
Jared Goff, bettors.

Sunday’s game will be the first time Goff will play since the Rams’ final exhibition game against the Minnesota Vikings.

In four exhibitions, Goff completed 22 of 49 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions and three fumbles.

Goff took first-team snaps during one bye week practice but has otherwise been limited to second-team reps.

College Football Betting Update: Washington Huskies lose another key defender

11.15.2016     10:21 AM     Printer Friendly

Another key defensive injury for the Washington Huskies as linebacker and team-leading tackler Azeem Victor will miss the rest of the season with a broken leg. As mentioned last week, the Huskies' stop unit saw a decline in production following the loss of Joe Mathis. Over the last four games, Washington has recorded only four sacks and in the process covered only one game and obviously suffered their first loss of the season last week against USC. Mathis and Victor have combined for 60 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks. Washington is currently -27 home favorites vs. Arizona State for Saturday.

NFL Gambling: Green Bay's decline could continue

The Green Bay Packers have been a model of consistency for the better part of the last decade with their last losing season coming in 2008. But that streak is now in jeopardy with plenty of warning signs that indicate a turnaround won't occur. After Sunday's horrendous 47-25 loss at Tennessee, the Packers now sit at 4-5 SU, 4-4-1 ATS on the season. And their schedule moving forward projects to be very challenging.

Green Bay's overall record suggests things haven't been all doom-and-gloom. But it's the current form that bettors should be concerned about. The Packers trailed by margins of 31-13 against Indianapolis and 21-0 against Tennessee in back-to-back weeks. Over their last five games their only win came against hapless Chicago.

Starting this week, Green Bay travels to Washington followed by another road trip to Philadelphia. Then it's back-to-back home games against Houston and Seattle and three straight division games -- two of which on the road -- to close out the year.

Despite the loss of Eddie Lacy in Week 6, Green Bay continues to move the football with nearly 100 ypg on the ground and 5.35 ypc over their last four games. The passing game Read more

NFL Handicapping: Tennessee Titans continue to trend OVER the total

11.14.2016     08:59 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
After seven straight overs, oddsmakers have had little choice but to adjust Tennessee's totals. The Titans' last five game have averaged a Big XII-esque 64.4 ppg. Note that Week 7's total vs. Indianapolis closed 48. Sunday's second meeting opened 53.5. That's the highest total for a Tennessee game since 2004. Dating back to last season the Titans are on a 12-3 run to the over.
