It’s a tough spot for the road underdog as they travel West on a short week after hanging on to beat the Broncos on Monday Night Football. However, the spot is certainly factored into this pointspread. My power ratings show the Falcons as two points better than the Chargers right now, which should equate to a pointspread of San Diego -1 at Qualcomm Stadium – there’s line value with the road dog, if they can overcome the tough circumstances.

on offense. Kudos for spotting it but why in the world would you admit it to the media? Put it up on Cragislist or something, "Secret Tip on How to Beat New England, 100% Guaranteed – $1.2 million, Phoenix, Ariz."

, this information came from "league sources" and team president Michael Bidwell, not head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Maybe Whisenhunt is trying to do his best Bill Belichick impression or maybe he spotted Kolb's horrific track record on the road (3-6, 64.8 rating, 6 TDs, 10 INTs) and wants to weigh all of his options. The problem is he doesn't have many with John Skelton out because of an ankle injury.

There’s not a lot to like about Iowa this year. The Hawkeyes program has been in steady decline since their shocking run to the Orange Bowl following the 2009 season. Head coach Kirk Ferentz is no longer able to attract NFL level recruits the way that he did for many of his previous 13 seasons on the job. The Hawkeyes didn’t reach the end zone against rebuilding Northern Illinois until the final two minutes of the game last week, escaping with a one point victory over a mid-tier MAC squad. An offensive line that has regularly sent graduated to the NFL doesn’t appear to have any NFL caliber talent in 2012.
