NFL Gambling: New England Patriots favored in every game according to CG Technology

05.11.2017     10:45 AM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
From one extreme to another, yesterday we discussed how the Cleveland Browns were underdogs in every game but one (pick 'em vs. NY Jets) according to CG Technology's early NFL lines. Here we have the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots laying points in EVERY regular season game (note that Week 17's game are not lined). Last season, the Patriots were underdogs in Week 1 to Arizona but were without the services of Tom Brady. Two weeks later, they closed a pick 'em vs. Houston (again, no Tom Brady). Overall, if you include the playoffs, New England was on average a -7 favorite. This year right at -6.5.

Week 1 - New England -7 vs. Kansas City
Week 2 - New England -4.5 at New
Week 3 - New England -9 vs. Houston
Week 4 - New England -9 vs. Carolina
Week 5 - New England -3 at Tampa Bay
Week 6 - New England -9.5 at NY Jets
Week 7 - New England -6.5 vs. Atlanta
Week 8 - New England -12 vs. LA Chargers
Week 9 - BYE
Week 10 - New England -3 at Denver
Week 11 - New England -1.5 vs. Oakland (Mexico City)

Billy Walters insider trading case unveils secret phone and hookers

05.08.2017     07:49 AM     Printer Friendly
UPDATE

The Billy Walters insider trading case just keeps getting better. Now we have a "bat phone" that was used to "secure prostitutes."

"Even though the government knew or should have known that Mr. Davis' testimony about using the bat phone between May and October 2012 was false — because he could not have received it until after that period — the government nonetheless elicited Mr. Davis' perjurious testimony on direct examination," the lawyers said.

They said the government "embraced the false testimony, aggressively defended it, misleadingly bolstered it, and thereby obtained a conviction that should not stand."

Seriously. They are betting Mayweather-McGregor like it's going to happen.

"Most fights that are not official don't garner much handle until officially becoming announced," SuperBook assistant manager Jeff Sherman told ESPN in an email. "I'm not surprised by the McGregor support, just that it has come without an official fight announcement."

"Will we see that fight? I strongly feel we won't," De La Hoya told CBS Sports.

Kentucky Derby Betting: Always Dreaming current favorite at 5-1

05.02.2017     12:00 PM     Printer Friendly
SportsMemo.com blog entry.
The 143rd Kentucky Derby goes Saturday and Always Dreaming is the current favorite at 5-1. The colt however has had issues leading up to the race. Classic Empire and Gunnevera are both 6-1 while Irish War Cry is 7-1.

“The reason I don’t like what I’ve seen is the way he’s been galloping in the morning, it makes you think he’s not going to be able to relax,” said NBC analyst Donna Barton Brothers, the former jockey. “He did buck a couple of times down the backside (Monday). ... That’s not the sort of thing you want to see leading up to the Derby, and this close to the Derby.”
