Atlanta (Minor) at Boston (Cook) -110 O/U 10.5
Recommendation: Boston
The Braves and Red Sox play the rubber match of a three-game set in Fenway Park Sunday afternoon. Atlanta sends southpaw Mike Minor to the hill and he’s found trouble at just about every turn this season, while showing a 6.04 ERA. The road has been tough sledding for Minor with a 6.55 ERA and 12 home runs allowed. The long ball figures to provide the left-hander with issues once again today. Pitching in Fenway against a patient and deep Red Sox lineup is simply too much for Minor to overcome with confidence a real issue. Meanwhile, Aaron Cook is expected to climb the bump for the Red Sox. Cook is looking forward to this opportunity after a dismal start for the Sox back on May 5. No question the groundballing Cook has toiled at the major league level going back to last season. However, he recently
added a cut-fastball, which could provide the right-hander with a new lease on his professional life. The cutter could be vital for Cook as it gives him a better way to attack the left-handed bat, while also confusing the opposition with a pitch not in the scouting report. We’ll take a proactive stance and look for Cook to get the job done today in Fenway giving the Red Sox the win.
