Buy the St. Louis Rams – To win at sports betting an understanding of “true value” is imperative. St. Louis is a great example of this in the early going of 2012. The Rams were dreadful last season, and that might just be an understatement. They finished 2-14 and never stood a chance. Injuries hit this team hard of which they lost nearly 100 games. The schedule was arguably the strongest in the NFL, and a start against Philadelphia, the New York Giants and Baltimore sapped all of their hopes. The Rams averaged a paltry 12.1 points per game and 24 yards per point. In searching for value, you need to look for change. Well, change came in the form of new head coach Jeff Fisher. Fisher can coach as well as just about anyone in the NFL as he showed for years with the Tennessee Titans. Very much like Tony LaRussa, folks love him or hate him, but Fisher does a great job of putting his teams in position to win. If he could do that with the Rams, they will be a “live” underdog throughout the campaign. In addition, there’s actually some talent and parts to work with. Quarterback Sam Bradford is still only 25-years-old after being billed the next big thing just a few of years ago. He once again flashed his potential last week against the Redskins throwing for over 300 yards. On defense, Cortland Finnegan just might be this year’s top free agent addition – a big upgrade considering how atrocious the secondary was last season. And Chris Long is a beast, able to pressure the quarterback at will thus far in 2012. I look for the Rams to continue to fly under the radar.
