Well, this is gonna be uncomfortable. Following the departure of Chad Morris to Arkansas, SMU hired former Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Dykes. Dykes, who most recently was an "analyst" for TCU, will reportedly coach the Mustangs
in the Frisco Bowl against...Louisiana Tech. And making things even more awkward is that a few current SMU players wanted assistant Jeff Taylor to take over
for Morris. Taylor was originally the "interim" but once the school hired Dykes, he bolted to Arkansas with Morris. Not knowing what to make of the situation, bettors literally haven't touched the game with CRIS's Dec. 4 opener of SMU -5 and a total of 70 still pasted across the board offshore.
“We want to continue to build on the success and the blueprint that Chad started. The most important thing we can do is get off to a good start by winning a bowl game,” Dykes said.
