Atlanta (Hanson) at Baltimore (Berken) O/U 10
On Friday night, the Braves will clash with Baltimore in Camden Yards for the second wave of interleague competition. Atlanta is expected to send young stud Tommy Hanson to the hill. Unfortunately, Hanson didn’t fare well in his first big league start last week against the Brewers. He allowed seven runs, including three home runs. In watching him pitch, his stuff didn’t feel overpowering and he missed his location on too many occasions. This will be a real problem pitching in this small park, which of course will include the designated hitter. The Orioles will send a plethora of left-handed sticks to the plate and as a team, they have hit 46 home runs against right-handed arms. Meanwhile, Jason Berken is slated to make the start for the Orioles. The right-hander looks to be pitching against the grain at the MLB level. After a couple of quality starts the floodgates opened against the Oakland A’s last week as he allowed a whopping nine runs in 3.1 innings. As the weather heats up in Baltimore look for more than a few longballs in this contest, sending it over the total.
