Detroit Lions suffer tough defeats but continue to cover pointspreads

You can no longer call the Detroit Lions the worst team in the NFL but you can certainly make a case for them being the unluckiest team around. The Wall Street Journal broke down some of the heartbreak during this season's 2-7 campaign. Adding to that misery is the fact that Detroit has had its franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford under center for only three games yet has still outscored the opposition 215-202. But not everything has been a failure in the Motor City this season as the Lions are currently tied with St. Louis for the best spread record in the league at 7-2 ATS.
