Los Angeles at Real Salt Lake - Saturday
Recommendation: Los Angeles pk and +0.5
Even though Real Salt Lake is on a league record 26-game home unbeaten streak I think it comes to an end on Saturday. Even though they are a deep team I see too many stars out for this week’s game. Midfielder Will Johnson and forwards Alvaro Saborio and Arturo Alvarez will join their respective national teams. Defender Jamison Olave missed last week’s game and his status for Saturday’s game is questionable. Real Salt Lake may be over looking this game as the second leg of the Champions League semifinal against Saprissa has far more importance than this early season MLS matchup.
The Galaxy is off to another fast start just like last season. They have to feel a little snake bitten coming away with a draw at home against New England last week after putting the ball in the net four times with three called back. The Galaxy will not be hit nearly as hard with international call-ups losing only Landon Donovan. Last season the Galaxy was by far the league’s best road team with an impressive 10-3-3 record. They carried that over with a 1-0 win at Seattle to open the campaign and I think they do the same against Salt Lake.
