Baylor -3.5 at Kansas State O/U 65.5
Recommendation: Over
Baylor has yet to be stopped this season. Senior quarterback Robert Griffin has, quite literally, been an unstoppable force. Through three games, Griffin has an incredible ratio of 13 touchdown passes compared to only 12 incompletions. Five different Baylor receivers caught touchdowns last week. They had five different big play touchdowns of 28 yards or longer in their opener against TCU. This team is going to score points in bunches against mediocre defenses; just like they did last year when the Bears gained 683 yards and scored 45 points against the same Kansas State defense that they’ll face on Saturday.
But Baylor’s defense isn’t very good, as we saw in the opener against TCU, when the Bears blew a three touchdown lead in the second half. They haven’t played a strong offense since, but even last week against Rice, the Owls gained 416 yards and scored 31 points against Art Briles’ defense. Kansas State has a strong offensive line and a powerful running game, as the Miami Hurricanes found out about last week. They hung 42 on Baylor last year. Don’t be shocked if both of these two offenses march up and down the field on a warm, sunny day in Manhattan, sending this game up and over the total.
