NCAAF Gambling News: Clemson Tigers peeved about subpar offense

11.17.2011     11:11 AM     Printer Friendly

SportsMemo.com blog entry.
Clemson -7.5 at NC State O/U 52.5

Interesting situation for Clemson this weekend at it travels to take on NC State. With last week's narrow win over Wake Forest, the Tigers clinched a berth in the ACC Championship. They also have a rivalry game on deck with South Carolina (SC won 29-7 last season). But according to the team and coaches, the main focus this week is getting the offense back on track. Against Wake, the Tigers rolled up 522 yards but had three turnovers and needed a last second field goal to escape with the win. The week before that, they were held to 17 points in a loss to Georgia Tech. NC State (5-5) had been playing better football (3-1 SU/ATS run) before laying an egg in last week's 14-10 loss at Boston College.

"We know we haven't been playing well, and that irks us," tight end Dwayne Allen said.

"We left so much out there that it makes me sick," offensive coordinator Chad Morris said.

It is the ACC, and therefore, nobody knows which team from any side will ever show up. I liked Clemson a lot at the beginning of the year, much like Georgia Tech. But as usual, I remember that it is Clemson and wonder how they will manage to lose a game they should win by 10? I see this as that game.
