A model of slightly above average consistency, the Blue Jays have posted season win totals of 81, 85, 75, 86, 83, 87 and 80 the last seven years. In five of those seven seasons, the Jays went .500 or better vs. the American League East.

The Jays added bullpen arms Darren Oliver, Francisco Cordero and Sergio Santos.

The key to Toronto's season could be starter Brett Cecil who last year struggled with his weight and conditioning. Cecil reported to camp 38 pounds lighter but is still having trouble with his velocity. He was in the high 80s his last spring training start and needed 81 pitches to get through 2.2 IP.

Toronto ranked 23rd in payroll last year.

Now is the time to get on board with Sportsmemo’s Full Season MLB service. We are offering are lowest base price ever, just $999 for the entire season – including the postseason.
