San Diego State -4.5 at BYU O/U 51.5
It was reported that BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall fired defensive coordinator Jaime Hill
following last Friday's loss to Utah State. And based on a couple of media outlets, Hill was none too pleased stating that he was a “scapegoat” for the team's 1-4 start. Mendenhall claimed he made the move based on a gut feeling. BYU finds itself a 4.5-point home underdog to San Diego State this weekend. Keep in mind, the Cougars have faced Washington, Air Force, Florida State, Nevada and Utah State (three of five on the road). If BYU can grab a win here and recover off a probable loss at TCU, a four-game swatch of Wyoming, UNLV, at Colorado State and New Mexico awaits. Whether or not they take advantage of that step down in class though will have a lot to do with how they perform this week against San Diego State.
