Three games on this weekend's college football card with totals of 71 or higher.
Kansas at Oklahoma 31.5 O/U 73.5
This one opened 69.5 at CRIS and has steadily climbed. The reason behind the move may be less about OSU's potent offense and more about how bad the Jayhawks (5-0 O/U) have looked on defense. In four games, KU is surrendering 545 ypg, 7.8 ypp and 44.3 ppg. They've played some pretty good offenses (Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, and Northern Illinois) but Oklahoma State is just as potent. Last year's meeting barely went under the closing number of 65 (48-14 OSU win).
East Carolina at Houston -10.5 O/U 74
The 2008 matchup hit the 70-point mark and that was in the conference championship game with former ECU head coach Skip Holtz involved. Under Ruffin McNeill, 11 of the Pirates' 17 games have gone over the 70-point mark. There is the issue of turnovers with both teams combining for 25 in nine games but we'd set the over/under of total punts at 2.5.
Texas A&M -9.5 at Texas Tech O/U 71
Last year's meeting was line 63 but went over with A&M winning 45-27. In 2008, the Aggies won 52-30 with a total of 65.5. Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville comes from a defensive background (
