Toledo -2.5 at Eastern Michigan O/U 155.5
Quick turnaround spot for these teams who just met last Friday night in Toledo. That 79-75 home loss as -9 favorites marked the second time this season that the Rockets lost outright to Eastern Michigan. Now favored for the third time in this series this season, Toldeo has the ultimate double revenge situation going for them tonight. The question is whether they can exact that revenge or is this just a bad matchup for them. There has been no trouble offensively for Toledo against the Eagles as they’ve averaged 80 points per game shooting 46.4% in one game and 50.8% in the other. They’ve been tremendous from beyond the arc going 17-of-37 45.9% and the tandem of C Nathan Boothe and G Jonathan Williams have scored 85 points shooting 32-of-53%. While the offense has been great, the defense has been a disaster. They’ve allowed Eastern Michigan to shoot 54.1% from the field and 51.6% from three point range. The Eagles number of offensive weapons has been problematic for Toledo as they’ve had four double digit scorers in each game. Sixth man Raven Lee has single handedly outscored Toledo’s entire bench 44-25 and has been a real difference maker. Hard to see either team changing the tone of the season series here tonight so expect more of the same as far as offense is concerned. Toledo will have to outscore EMU to win this one and that’s entirely possible but as high octane as this series has been, prefer to play it over.
