Hofstra at Siena +1 O/U 163
The Siena men’s basketball team starts a three-game homestand against non-conference opponents tonight when it takes on Hofstra. After splitting a MAAC weekend double-header, beating two-time defending MAAC champion Manhattan Friday and falling to St. Peter’s Sunday, the Saints will look to get back in the win column against Hofstra. The Hofstra Pride will put its own three-game win streak on the line tonight in New York’s capitol. This game can be billed as “First one to 80 wins”. Siena with a 21.8 turnover % (ranking 320 nationally) combined with a 36.7 offensive rebounding % (ranking 36 nationally) are two major reasons the Saints have played to the over (4-1 O/U record YTD). Jimmy Patsos the Siena head coach knows his team is going to be up against it defensively tonight, he said. “Juan’ya Green is as good a mid-major point guard as you’re going to see. He can score. He’s got a chance to play in the NBA. He’s got size. Tanksley’s really good. That’s a tough matchup for (Siena’s) Lavon (Long).” Hofstra plays a very up tempo style offense themselves ranking in the top 80 in average possession length. “Knowing Joe Mihalich and (my) history, first one to 80 (points) wins,” Patsos said. “Eighty-five, you know. We’re both going to play fast.” With both teams playing up-tempo offense with below average defensive metrics for both mid majors, I agree with the market movement towards the over and recommend betting over tonight in Albany.
