Erin Rynning will participate in this year’s Cantor Football Showdown at the M Casino in Las Vegas. Here are the
details,
rules and
matchups for the event. ER was kind enough to share some of his thoughts and opinions heading in…
"The contest is basically the same premise of the old Leroy’s Invitational which I won five years ago. There are a few wrinkles here and there, like a smaller entry fee of $3K, and after the first round the remaining entrants will be reseeded based on their first round win percentage. As far as strategy goes, you're just looking to put out your top plays on the board with lines that offer the most value at the current time. The M Casino is known to put up strong and sometimes opinionated lines. I don’t know much about my first round competitor (Kirk Helmick) outside of his name. I did hear that he's a pretty big player at the M (story right here). It will be tough competition, but I have full confidence in myself regardless of the matchup. Just a monster card to choose from this weekend and one play that has a good chance to make my contest card is the Carolina Panthers +7. Yes, it's tricky playing a rookie quarterback in Week 1 on the road but Carolina’s roster is simply better top to bottom compared to Arizona. I also think the Panthers can win the ground game battle. I'll take the better talent and run game +7 all day long in the NFL."
