According to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, the plan of attack for Thursday is to
on Middle Tennessee State back-up quarterback Logan Kilgore. Kilgore, who steps in for the suspended Dwight Dasher, played last season at Bakersfield College in California. Minnesota is a 3-point road favorite.
"We definitely want to get up on him, hitting him in his face a few times and see if he can take it — try to break him early," sophomore defensive end D.L. Wilhite said. "I'm sure he's a tough football player. He's not going to get mentally flustered easy. But we'll try to get on him all night and make him make some tough throws."
"We'll stick to the same basic rules and try to attack him the same way," sophomore cornerback Michael Carter said. "We'll put some pressure on him. Since this is his first time playing college football, we'll see how he reacts to that. Knowing that he's new, we might try to blitz him and everything. If he reacts well, then we'll have to change up and drop more people back."
