UT-Chattanooga at Georgia Tech -15 O/U 146.5
Early on in the season following an embarrassing loss to Kennesaw State, we saw Georgia Tech rebound with back-to-back blowout wins at home against inferior competition. Tonight the Yellow Jackets are faced with a similar situation after getting waxed at Virginia Tech 102-77 on Sunday.
Tech plays host to UT-Chattanooga before heading to Duke this weekend. The Yellow Jackets have lost five straight and are a long shot to reach the postseason. Head coach Paul Hewitt was ejected in the loss to VT and the local media has hinted strongly that
his tenure may be coming to an end. Interesting to note that since taking the Yellow Jackets to the National Title game in 2004,
Hewitt's clubs are a combined 111-104 (39-68 in ACC play).
Chattanooga has been through a whirlwind of late with a road-heavy schedule and team-wide flu outbreak. The Mocs showed a lot of guts with back-to-back spread covers and have enough talent to stick around against an emotionally battered Tech squad. Despite being in the thick of the So-Con race, head coach
John Shulman seems pleased that his now healthy team can go out and "just play basketball".
