Baltimore (Bundy) +105 at Washington (Cole) O/U 8.5
The Baltimore Orioles let one slip away last night against the Washington Nationals who turned a 6-4 deficit into a 7-6 walk-off win. The good news for Baltimore is that they have responded well off defeats this season with a 7-3 mark in 10 games after a loss. And they have the right pitcher on the mound for a bounceback effort tonight in Dylan Bundy. Bundy has been solid entering tonight's game with a 2.17 ERA including a 2.33 ERA mark on the road. Baltimore is 6-1 in his seven starts this season and he notched the victory in his lone previous outing against Washington last season pitching 6 innings of 2-run ball. On the flip side, Washington’s AJ Cole is nothing more than a temporary spot starter. Cole's numbers are less than average with a poor 6.63 ERA in four starts at Triple-A prior to his call-up. He's endured some very alarming control and command difficulties issuing 4.7 walks per 9 innings in the minors. Those problems carried over to his first start for the Nationals against Philadelphia with Cole offering up four free passes in just 6 innings. The Nationals bullpen behind Cole (who isn't likely to eat up innings) is a mess with a brutal 5.40 ERA on the season and they should open the door for the Orioles to score runs late in the game if needed. This is a solid opportunity to support Baltimore at a small underdog price.
