San Francisco (Moore) -120 at Arizona (Walker) O/U 9.5
Good move by the Arizona Diamondbacks in acquiring underachieving Taijuan Walker this past offseason. Walker, who is still only 24 years old, never lived up to his top billing in Seattle. The stuff is there but he's had mechanical issues as well as having dealt with bone spurs in his ankle much of last year. Now healthy and moving to the National League, it's a good opportunity for Walker to hit the ground running. San Francisco's Matt Moore enjoyed his own switch from the AL East to the NL West. While Moore's ERA remained the same, nearly all his peripherals improved including strikeouts (9.1 Ks per 9 IP) and FIP (3.53) during his 12 starts for the Giants. The first two games in the series, which were lined at 8.5 and 9 respectively, went over thanks to a few "big" innings. Even with the Chase Field roof open, I see two capable and perhaps underrated starters on the mound. We'll look to play under the key number of 9.5.
