MLB Handicapping: Toronto's offense off to a slow start

04.18.2016     08:08 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
Slated to once again be the highest scoring team in the league, the Toronto Blue Jays are off to a slow start with the bats. It's resulted in a 4-8-1 over/under mark. The "big three" of Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, and Jose Bautista are all producing at their normal rate with 10 homes runs and a combined batting average north of .310. The problem has been the rest of the lineup. Troy Tulowitzki, Russell Martin, Kevin Pillar, and Chris Colabello have combined for two homes runs and and a dismal .149 batting average. Interesting side note: Toronto has faced on three left-handed starters out of 13 games. They face righty Clay Buchholz this afternoon and will see three righties in their upcoming series vs. Baltimore.
