NBA Handicapping: If you haven't already noticed, the Wizards are really bad

01.09.2012     08:13 AM     Printer Friendly

SportsMemo.com blog entry.
The Washington Wizards are toxic right now. Their schedule hasn't been the easiest, but at 0-8 (2-6 ATS), it is hard to find an excuse to bet on this team. Head coach Flip Saunders is already in "I gotta find five guys who play hard" mode and despite shooting 35% from the floor, point guard John Wall claims he is doing his job, and hopefully everyone else will follow his lead. The Wizards play six of their next eight at home starting Tuesday vs. Toronto.

"Disappointment. Embarrassment," Wizards coach Flip Saunders said. "My job over the next two days is try to find five guys who can play the right way and play with some heart.

"It was bad to watch. It was bad to coach. It was bad to play."

"You've got a lot of people that's talented. Guys just have to put it together. I'm doing my job, just trying to lead, trying to run the team, get everybody involved and just try to make the right plays, and hopefully everybody follows the lead."

Blatche was tied for 93rd, Young 101st and Wall 105th in shooting percentage among 110 players with the minimum shots to qualify entering Sunday's game. Crawford is shooting 31.6%.
