This certainly would have helped 24 hours ago. Out of curiosity, we went back and compiled the results of how NBA teams fared against opponents who won by 50+ in the previous meeting. That parameter was in play last night when the Lakers faced Cleveland. In the first contest back in mid-January, LA won 112-57 but last night, the Cavs somehow exacted revenge with the outright victory as 11-point underdogs. Dating back to 1998, there were two situations where the revenge took place the following season. One of the losses was New Orleans' playoff defeat against Denver – down 3-1 in the series, the Hornets packed it in the next game. Overall, the results are strong at 8-2 SU/ATS – seven of those were outright underdog victories. So now we know; lose by 50+, circle the date, bet the moneyline.
