New Mexico State at San Jose State -9.5 O/U 45.5
It was announced today that New Mexico State sophomore quarterback Andrew Manley tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season
. Manley had thrown for nearly 900 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions in three games. As we saw in the win at Minnesota, he provided the Aggies with a viable means of moving the football. NMSU must now turn to senior Matt Christian who played in eight games last year. Despite an 8 TD-to-2 INT ratio, Christian wasn't overly effective, completing just 48% of his passes (5.8 yards per attempt). Still, there doesn't expect to be that significant of a drop-off with Christian now under center. Interesting that this week's opponent, San Jose State, is nearly a double-digit home favorite. The Aggies are still not a very good ballclub but the Spartans have just one win in the last two seasons and that came against FCS Southern Utah, 16-11. NMSU (+3.5) won last year's meeting in Las Cruces, 29-27, on a last second touchdown pass.
