NCAAF Betting Update: Boston College down another running back

08.23.2011     06:29 AM     Printer Friendly

UPDATE

Northwestern at Boston College -3 O/U 46.5

Last week we said not to panic when Boston College running back Montel Harris was forced to undergo knee surgery and would miss 3-4 weeks. The Eagles would be able to survive with proven back-up Andre Williams (461 yards, 4.9 ypc). But during Sunday's scrimmage, Williams left with a sprained ankle and is listed as questionable for Week 1's home game against Northwestern. The tandem of Harris and Williams has produced over 4,000 career yards. The replacement tandem of Tahj Kimble and Rolandan Finch has produced 28 career yards.

Northwestern at Boston College -3 O/U 46.5

Typically don't want to overreact to running back injuries but a fairly significant one as ACC Preseason Player of the Year Montel Harris (3,600 career yards) will miss 3-4 weeks after undergoing knee surgery yesterday. Harris had been practicing but said is knee didn't feel right and noticed swelling. Boston College does have a capable back-up in Andre Williams who as a freshman ran for 461 yards (4.85 ypc) and two touchdowns.

“I was very concerned about Montel in January. And I was very concerned about him in spring ball. I was feeling a little bit better when he was feeling better and I was telling you guys he looked like his old self. Now I’m very concerned again. And I feel bad for him, because he’s concerned, obviously,” said Spaziani.
