Note that the Big XII will feature five teams who ranked in the top 25 in points per play in 2011: Oklahoma State (1st), Baylor (9th), Oklahoma (17th), West Virginia and Kansas State (21). Nine of WVU's 13 games went over the total last year.
“I have never installed this offense to where you look back at the end of the first year and are like, ‘We’re good that year.’ You always look back and it’s like, ‘How did we win a game?’” offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson said. “I don’t think (our tempo) necessarily got to where we wanted it to.”
“I think our tempo is going to be extreme this year between really fast and slowing it down and really fast and slowing it down,” Dawson said. “We should be able to have three or four different tempos, which is what you want.”
