NFL Handicapping: Pittsburgh Steelers project to have potent offense

06.01.2016     09:25 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
There's reason to believe the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to put up points in bunches this season. They put up 26.4 ppg in 2015 despite Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell playing only 58 snaps together. From a totals perspective, the Steelers finished 6-10 O/U, including 0-4 without Roethlisberger. Oddsmakers appear well aware of this squad's offensive potential as their Week 1 game at Washington is currently lined 50.5 which is the highest total on the card (Oakland-New Orleans also 50.5). Totals of 50.5 or higher are a dead even 47-47-2 O/U since 2013.

"Obviously, we have playmakers all over the field," Bell said. "We use OTAs as our leverage point. We know where we were last year. We kind of have to pick up where we were last year and get better.

"Teams are going to pick up on things that we do, so we have to continue to detail everything."
