NFL Handicapping: St. Louis Rams make switch at offensive coordinator

12.10.2015     08:38 AM     Printer Friendly blog entry.
After back-to-back win and covers out of the bye week, St. Louis looked to be a potential playoff contender at 4-3. But following an overtime loss to Minnesota, the wheel have officially come off. The Rams have lost five straight (0-4-1 ATS) and averaged only 10.8 ppg during that span. So what now? Well, why not change things up. Tight ends coach Rob Boras, who hasn't called plays in over a decade, was promoted to offensive coordinator this week. You know things are bad when you open as a -1.5 home favorite vs. Detroit and now find yourself catching +2.5.

“I’d be lying if I said no,” Boras said after directing his first practice on Wednesday. “It’s not going to be perfect. Football isn’t perfect.”

“I don’t know how much can change,” Boras said. “We have different thoughts but we’re pretty far down the road right now.”
