Buffalo at Ottawa -145 O/U 5.5
Two Atlantic Division clubs battle in the Canadian capital as the Ottawa Senators host the Buffalo Sabres tonight. Both clubs have fallen on hard times as of late with the Senators losing six of their last eight contests. The addition of defenseman Dion Phaneuf hasn't helped with their blueline issues as Ottawa's opponents have scored three or more goals in 12 of its last 15 games. Their penalty killing unit is dead last in the NHL having allowed 48 goals thus far in the season, and their 181 goals allowed overall is also a league-worst. Buffalo has lost seven of its last 11 games overall and will be without forward Evander Kane, who is scratched due to oversleeping and missing practice after partying on Sunday after the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto. His benching obviously hurts what has been an inconsistent offense. Ironically enough, the Sabres have been outshot in each of their wins dating all the way back to December 14th. Ottawa has gone over the total in seven of its last 10 games while the Sabres are currently on a 3-1 O/U. Even with Kane out, the defenses for both squads is suspect enough to warrant a play on the over.
