Edmonton at St. Louis -270 O/U 5
Edmonton faces one of the hottest teams in the league tonight in the St. Louis Blues. It's no surprise that this Blues team has held strong throughout the course of the season with great goaltending, solid defense, and timely scoring. As you can see by the steep price tag, St. Louis is a different team on its home ice with a stout record of 19-3-3 (8-9-3 on the road). We have seen the books start charging premium prices for that home ice but nothing like tonight. St. Louis is very strong defensively, but they play so many close one-goal games that I would never feel confident laying this type of price. That being said, Edmonton is without three key forwards tonight as Taylor Hall will join Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins on the bench after being cut with a skate in warm-ups. Since the injuries up front the Oilers have managed just 1.20 goals per game over their last five contests. Facing a defensive team like the Blues, who will limit Edmonton’s chances, the right way to look at this game is UNDER the total. No stranger to having its games lined at 5 goals, St. Louis is still a rock solid 24-11 to the UNDER this season.
