Dallas -140 at Edmonton O/U 5.5
Recommendation: Dallas
Dallas is really struggling by its standards going 1-5 since the All-Star break. Defense has been an issue as they’ve allowed 3.3 goals a game during that span. They have now fallen back towards the mass of teams in the West that are all within striking distance of each other for playoff spots 3-8. One team that isn't in the hunt is the Edmonton Oilers. We cashed a ticket against them again on Sunday night as Anaheim completely dominated in a 4-0 win. Edmonton managed only 12 shots in that game! The morale in the Edmonton locker room is at an all-time low. Defenseman Theo Peckham said, "We don't have enough urgency. We're not playing like it's the last game we're ever going to play. There's not enough pride right now, and it's something we have to work on." That doesn't change overnight and there is something seriously wrong with these guys if they can't compete on a regular basis. So if there is one thing the Stars can use right now it is a dose of the Oilers. They have beaten the Oilers in all three matchups thus far and five in a row dating back to last year. The Stars will be without Brad Richards for this game, but it shouldn’t hinder the offense against such a poor defensive club.
