Toronto at Montreal -150 O/U 5.5
Recommendation: Under
Don't look now but the Maple Leafs have been cleaning up their act defensively. They’ve won three of their last four and allowed just five goals during that span. Young goaltender James Reimer has really been a positive for the Leafs in an otherwise negatively filled campaign. Reimer has gone 9-4-1-1 with a 2.12 GAA in net this season. Offensively the Leafs have just managed nine goals in their last six games – struggles that have plagued this team throughout the season. The lack of scoring has resulted in a 5-1 run to the Under. Montreal is enjoying a nice run of Under hockey as well with each of its last five games all landing Under the total. The Habs have once again been struggling to find the back of the net with just two goals per game in their last six contests. Montreal backup Alex Auld gets the nod in net tonight in place of starter Carey Price. I don’t expect a drop-off as Auld sports a better GAA than Price and is more than capable of handling the workload. The last eight meetings between these two teams featured seven games that went Under and I expect this heated rivalry to have another low scoring game tonight.
