Wyoming at BYU -10 O/U 44.5
Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen came to Laramie with a pedigree for offense but the Cowboys have yet to fully grasp his system
. But those struggles may also have something to do with the fact that they've played arguably the toughest schedule in the country when it comes to opposing defenses.
Wyoming's 2010 Opponents (National Rank Total Defense)
Boise State (1st)
Air Force (42nd)
Southern Utah (19th FCS)
Make no mistake, Wyoming isn't going to all of a sudden score 30 with ease with those tough defenses in the rear view mirror, but the opportunity upcoming for more production is seemingly there (at BYU, vs. San Diego State, at New Mexico, at UNLV, vs. Colorado State). This weekend's opponent BYU has actually done a fairly decent job on the defensive end despite some not-so-hot statistics. They've also outscored Wyoming 96-0 the last two meetings. The Cougars are 7-0 to the under this season.
"It's not going to drastically change what we're doing offensively," Christensen said. "We need to generate more points.
"It's not all of a sudden going to explode and we're going to have this world-class offense that's scoring 50 points a game. We can certainly score, and we have to play better."
