Bet a few things for men's soccer today:

Mexico PK +115 (also a small taste of Mexico on three way at +215)

Brazil -1 at -104

The total in the Japan/Mexico game got a little out of hand. Was hoping to play it under but at 2.5 -200 I couldn't quite get there.

A few thoughts...

I think the Mexico match should have been priced much more evenly. I think Mexico's slow start coupled with the fact Japan upset Spain (and has yet to concede a goal) inflated the price. Still Mexico has a ton of talent in this team and Japan's attack frankly has left much to be desired. A lower scoring affair probably in order but Mexico is very live.

Brazil... not much to say here. They are flat out the best team in the tournament scoring at least three goals in each match thus far (important in covering a -1 goal spread). As long as complacency doesn't set it (and it has bitten them in the ass twice in the tournament so beware) we should win this bet.

Just peeked my head up for a second and see that Brazil cashed for us with a 3-0 win. Didn't get to see any of that game but scoreline sure pleases.

Quite tempted to take Japan in the women's final. +290!? I just really want to pull for the USA to win though. After that crazy game against Canada and the heartbreak from the last World Cup I think it'd be great for them to win.

I have a bet that is still alive today on Aries Merritt to win the Men's 110m Hurdles after hearing Alf Musketa lean in that direction on the podcast last week.

I got nothing on the basketball but with that kind of pointspread, I would probably try to make an excuse to take 33 points than I would to make an excuse to lay 33 points. It's one of those "mental mindset" handicaps. If the USA is motivated and wants to put their foot down on the gas pedal, they could and should cover that number. If they aren't motivated and play with a lackadaisical attitude, chances are they might not cover -33.

A few days ago when the lines were released, one of my books incorrectly posted USA +260 on the moneyline in the Women's Soccer Gold Medal match. I quickly placed a limit bet on it, but had the distinct feeling it would be cancelled a few hours later. It was not, not even days later. Cash it! Surprised

I'm guessing at some point they cancel this... whether it initially gets added to your account balance or not. And not always a good idea to fire away at obvious mistake lines. You can burn bridges pretty quick and sometimes it's tough to find quality outs nowadays.

Brazil men in the Olympics have had scores of 3-2, 3-1, 3-0, 3-2, and 3-0. Mexico is coming off of a 3-1 win over Japan. How are we still being offered Over 2.5 around -120? Anyone else think this is worthy of a rather large play?
