Here's a couple plays that just missed my client card for tonight in NFLX action. These are still worth a small bet though IMO:
Tennessee +3
On paper, Tennessee has the better QB rotation and team here and I think they've got the right frame of mind to play better this week but a big reason why the Titans didn't make it on my card for tonight is because I wasn't impressed with the defense at all against Seattle. No pass rush, receivers left open down field and even stopping the run was an issue against the Seahawks and it didn't improve much later in the game either. I also didn't like the play from RB Chris Johnson. It was a combo of him not running well and not concentrating when being used in the passing game but also some of the blame has to go to an offensive line that quite simply didn't get it done last week. I think the Titans have a better game in them tonight and especially better games from Locker and Hasselbeck and I've bet this one small but I'm gonna need to see it happen first before I recommend anything more substantial than that.
Miami-Carolina Over 37
QB Ryan Tannehill will start for Miami and he looked good last week but ultimately his first crack against starting defenders kept me off this as a release and I read a few reports that Carolina QB's including Cam Newton who will play the entire first half tonight were being picked off in practice and that's not always a good sign. Still the motivation is on Carolina's side to have a better performance offensively particularly with Newton and the starting unit. A couple injuries to the Panthers defensively including on the DL and LB will test some of their depth tonight. We'll see if Matt Moore can take advantage of it when he enters the game coming off a poor showing last week.
I just finished watching the Panthers first preseason game verses the Texans and it was clear their defense is awfully weak .....linebackers are a new core Luke Kueckly will be a stand out the defensive line is small, I believe they will struggle with any soild offense.
