UMass very energetic early and in typical Miss State fashion, they look lethargic and disinterested...Bost already on the bench 4 1/2 minutes in with 2 fouls

The one reason I stayed off BYU-Iona OVER tonight...my concern that both teams would not be used to shooting the basketball in unfamiliar surroundings in Dayton and depth perception might be a little different for teams that never play on that court.
Now Mississippi Valley State and Western Kentucky are OBVIOUSLY not BYU or Iona on the offensive end of the court but both teams couldn't shoot straight in that first half with Miss Valley State leading 23-19 at Halftime.
We'll have to see if this carries over into the BYU game. The pace will be there for an Over in that game but how well will both teams shoot to get Over a # of 162 is my main area of concern there.

I wasn't good enough to start at the SEC/A-10 level, but you can bet your ass that at my peak, if I played 40 minutes in that UMass/Miss State game my stat line would have read...
19 points, 3-of-4 3-pt, 9 turnovers, 0 assists, 2 dunks, 1 technical foul for taunting

JM....i would stay away from laying points in these secondary tournaments in the early going. in fact, playing sides in general is a crapshoot. we all felt really good about UMass but beyond that, I was struggling to find something to bet that wasn't a total.
