Push everything back about 2 weeks. I wonder if this season will lead to that idea. In fact, I'd like to see the NBA start about Dec 1st and go through about the weekend before the 4th of July. The playoff have provided good flow this year without all the crazy long breaks between when teams would play sometimes.
ABC gets its best rating for an NBA Finals Game 1
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma City Thunder's victory over Miami in the opener of the NBA Finals drew the highest overnight rating ever for a Game 1 on ABC.
The game drew an 11.8 rating, according to Nielsen, an increase of 10 percent from the 10.7 for the Heat's Game 1 victory over Dallas last year.
The previous Game 1 record for ABC was in 2004, an 11.6 for the opener of Detroit's victory over the Lakers.
ESPN says Wednesday the game generated a 44.3 rating in Oklahoma City, the highest for an NBA game in that market.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Overnight ratings measure the country's largest markets. Moved Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 14:36:12 Eastern, UTC -400

No question, the 'in-game' is the future, and the NBA product is super fit with it, and especially the playoffs...
